How it works

Sound Services aim to make hiring equipment as straightforward as possible. Equipment is available on a ‘dry hire’ basis for pick up and return yourself. Alternatively, we offer a complete service where one of our experienced technicians will deliver, set up, and collect the equipment from your venue for an additional cost.

Our services are available in London and the surrounding areas, as well as further afield for larger projects. We can even provide a friendly and experienced technician to stay on site throughout your event to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible.If you know the equipment that you require, you can browse the hire prices here. Once we receive your request we will send you an official quote by email.

Once you have received your quote and are happy with it, a deposit (min £100) is required to secure your booking with the remainder due at least a week before the start of the hire. There is usually an additional, refundable damage deposit to be paid in addition to the hire fee. This should be between £100-£300 depending on the value of the equipment hired and will be refunded to your card upon return of the equipment in good, working condition.

Dry hires can be collected from our south London warehouse Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:30am and 6pm. Saturday collections/returns can often be arranged upon appointment. Weekend hires are charged at a one day rate.

Three forms of ID are required upon collection/delivery. You will also be required to sign a rental agreement confirming you take full responsibility for the equipment. ID is generally not required for hires undertaken by a limited company.

FAQs

What counts as ID?
We will need to see 1 piece of photographic ID (driving licence, passport, UK residence permit) plus two items proof of current address (bank/card statements, utility bills, council tax bills, HMRC documents etc). These must be dated within the last 3 months and show your full name and current address.
Can I pay by card?
Yes, we accept all major credit/debit cards.
When will my damage deposit be returned?
We aim to refund all damage deposits within 1 working day.
Will you show me how to set everything up? Yes, we will give you a run-through of all equipment when you collect and provide instructions for our most popular equipment that you can take with you.
What if the equipment I have hired doesn’t work? This is extremely unlikely! All equipment is tested before and after each hire and failures are rare. We have engineers available for telephone support 24/7 and can usually arrange replacement equipment if the worse was to happen.
My venue has asked for PAT certificates for the equipment- can you provide these?
Yes, we can provide PAT certificates for all electrical items.
